The short version: FriendSlop.Online may earn a commission when you buy a game through some of the links on this site. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes which games we recommend.
How this site makes money
Running a game-recommendation site costs money, and Steam — where most of these games live — does not pay anything for sending shoppers to its store. So alongside every Steam link, we sometimes offer a buy link through an authorized key retailer that does pay a small commission when you purchase. Those retailers are:
- Fanatical — through the CJ Affiliate network.
- Humble Store — through the Impact network.
When you click one of these links and buy something, we may receive a percentage of the sale from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you went to the retailer directly — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
Steam links are not affiliate
Steam has no public store-link affiliate program, so our Steam links earn us nothing. We include them purely for reference — Steam is usually the canonical place to check a game’s current price, reviews, and system requirements. If you would rather just buy on Steam, that is completely fine and costs us nothing to offer.
Commissions don’t buy a spot on the list
We only feature games we genuinely think fit the chaotic-co-op vibe this site is about. A retailer paying a commission has no influence on whether a game is recommended, how it is rated, or where it ranks. If a game is here, it is because we think it is worth playing with your friends — not because of an affiliate deal.
The retailer buy links are search links for the game’s title on that store, so you can confirm the exact edition and price before you buy.
Your consumer protection
This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and affiliate relationships (16 CFR Part 255). We want the relationship to be clear and conspicuous: some outbound links are affiliate links, and we may be compensated when you use them.
