Privacy Policy
FriendSlop.Online (“we,” “us”) is a recommendation engine for chaotic co-op PC games. This page explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email privacy@friendslop.online.
What we collect
FriendSlop.Online does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the recommender, the vibe quiz, or the wheel.
- Recommender inputs — friend count and vibe tags you select. These are sent to our server to filter the catalog and are not stored against an identity.
- Quiz prompts — when you submit the vibe quiz, the text you write is forwarded to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate recommendations. We do not retain prompt text after the response is returned. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
- Game submissions — when you use the Submit page, the Steam URL, mod URL, and notes you provide are stored in our database for editorial review. These are not personal data unless you choose to include them.
- Server logs — our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp) for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Logs are rotated and not used to build user profiles.
Cookies
FriendSlop.Online itself sets one functional cookie:
- admin_token — only set if you log in to the admin dashboard. Not used for tracking.
Third parties listed below may set their own cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the recommender, quiz, and wheel will continue to work without them.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads on FriendSlop.Online. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland will be shown a Google-managed consent message before personalised ads are served, in line with Google’s certified Consent Management Platform.
Third-party services
- Steam (Valve Corporation) — game header images, screenshots, prices, and review scores are fetched from Steam’s public APIs. We embed Steam-hosted images directly. See Steam’s privacy agreement.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — used to power the vibe quiz and editorial generation. Prompts are processed by Anthropic; we do not send personal information.
- Hosting / database — our application runs on standard cloud infrastructure (Vercel-class hosting and a managed Postgres database). These providers process server logs as data processors on our behalf.
- Mod sources — mod links point to Thunderstore, Nexus Mods, and similar sites. Clicking a mod link takes you to the third party, whose privacy policy applies once you leave FriendSlop.Online.
Children
FriendSlop.Online is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), or similar laws — including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@friendslop.online. We will respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
Game submissions are retained until reviewed and either approved (kept as catalog entries) or rejected (deleted). Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Quiz prompt content is not retained.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page.
