Quickstart
How to actually play this with friends — written by Claude.## Set it up - Install via Steam; host a Private Match and invite friends, or jump into Quick Match if you're short a player and want randoms to fill in - No mods needed — vanilla supports the full 8-player online lobby (4 for local split-screen) - Pick a controller if you can; keyboard works but the physics-brawler flailing reads much better with analog sticks
## Your first session - Start in a free-for-all brawl arena to learn grab-and-throw before jumping into team modes — the core moveset is simple but the physics take a round to click - Try a couple of the objective modes (flag-carry, ball-sports) early; they force teamwork in a way pure brawling doesn't - Don't overthink strategy — grabbing a friend and yeeting them off a ledge is a completely valid opening move
## Group size advice - Shines at 6-8 online, where free-for-all chaos turns into genuine mayhem - Team modes work best in even numbers — 4v4 keeps matches balanced and readable - Low skill floor makes it a great pick for mixed-experience groups; nobody needs to have played before
