⚔️Valheim
Viking purgatory. Build longhouses, sail longships, die to a greydwarf.
Procedural Norse survival for up to ten. Build, sail, fight progressively bigger bosses. The pacing is unusually friendly to group play — a 2-hour session feels like real progress. Mods raise the player cap further.

Quickstart
How to actually play this with friends — written by Claude.## Set it up - Install via Steam; host from the in-game menu or spin up a dedicated server — vanilla already supports up to 10 players, no mod required - Install BepInExPack Valheim if you want mods, then ValheimPlus (Reforged) on top for QoL tuning and extra server slots — skip both if vanilla's fine - Pick a world seed together and commit to it; regenerating a world after someone's already built a longhouse is a group-chat catastrophe
## Your first session - Punch trees and get a roof over your head before dark — the first night's greydwarves will absolutely find an open camp - Split jobs naturally early on: someone chops wood, someone hunts deer for food, someone scouts the coast for a longship spot - Don't rush Eikthyr. Gear up and farm a few days first — undergeared groups get wiped by the first boss constantly
## Group size advice - Comfortable at 4-6 even in vanilla; the biome pacing gives everyone something to do without stepping on each other - Scales to the full 10-player cap for bigger friend groups, especially with ValheimPlus opening more server slots - Two players works fine too, just expect longer boss grinds
