April belongs to Windrose — Kraken Express's co-op pirate survival shipped April 14 off the back of 1.5 million Steam wishlists, and it's the friend-slop game of the month by a long sea mile.

You captain a crew of up to eight against Blackbeard and a tangle of rival empires. The writing is grounded for a genre that usually isn't; the ship-handling leans into roles (gunner, rigger, cartographer) that scale sideways with your friend stack; and the chaos of a sudden squall at the wrong cove turns into the best group story of the week. Four is the sweet spot for performance, but dedicated servers crack it open to the full eight.
