🐉Divinity: Original Sin 2
Four-player party RPG where every element is on fire.
The four-player co-op RPG benchmark. Real turn-based tactics, real moral branching, real potential for a party member to backstab the quest-giver. Long campaigns that actually hold groups together.

Quickstart
How to actually play this with friends — written by Claude.## Set it up - Install via Steam; host from the main menu and invite through Steam friends — up to four players in one party - Grab co-op-safe QoL and UI mods from Nexus before you start; the base UI doesn't scale great past two screens - Pick character origins as a group — each origin carries its own companion quest, and doubling one up wastes content
## Your first session - Escape Fort Joy together before splitting to explore; the opening area teaches the turn-based combat basics you'll need immediately - Assign rough tactical roles (tank, control-caster, damage, support) — elemental combos punish uncoordinated parties fast - Loot everything and argue about who gets what — the game expects and rewards petty in-party negotiation
## Group size advice - Four is the full party and the intended tactical experience — every class slot filled, every companion available - Two or three works with hirelings filling empty slots, just expect longer fights - A real campaign commitment — this runs 60-100 hours, so make sure the group's actually in for the long haul
