🪂HELLDIVERS 2
Managed Democracy. Spread it with a 500kg bomb.
Four-player third-person co-op shooter. Deploy onto planets, complete objectives, try not to kill your squad with the orbital laser. Satirical, stylish, punishing on higher difficulties.

Quickstart
How to actually play this with friends — written by Claude.## Set it up - Install, pick an early loadout (Stratagems matter more than your primary weapon at first), then host or join through the in-game Social menu - Treat friendly fire as always-on even before you check the setting — Orbital strikes and sentry turrets have downed more Helldivers than the bugs have - Get your squad of four on one Discord call before you drop; comms win firefights, raw aim barely factors in
## Your first session - Start on Trivial or Easy against Terminids or Automatons to learn Stratagem input patterns without a live grenade going off in your hands - Split roles loosely: one person calls in support weapons, one watches the extraction timer, everyone announces a Stratagem out loud before throwing the beacon - Never reinforce blind — glance at the map before dropping a teammate back in, or you'll pod them straight into a bug nest
## Group size advice - A full squad of four is the intended experience and where Stratagem combos actually start clicking together - Two players makes for a quieter, more tactical run; solo is technically viable but grindy and stressful - Managed Democracy scales with more hands — someone always needs to be hauling SEAF artillery shells while everyone else holds the line
